This is a lovely ride, especially in the spring, through the citrus and avocado orchards east of Somis California. The air is scented with the fragrance of millions of blossoms and the hillsides are just starting to turn green after the winter rains.

Suddenly, there is a small arrow and low guard rail to alert you of a hard 90º left turn. Once you make the corner you can enjoy the long sweep of the road down the deep gorge with the rocky bottom.

Scattered along the steep hillside were the rusted remains of a number of automobiles of various vintages, stark reminder of those not lucky enough
to make the turn.
