This is a great ride through the Santa Monica Mountains between the San Fernando Valley and Malibu on the Pacific Coast. Normally heavily traveled, masses of bikers flash the "v" to each other as they pass. It has everything. Steep canyon drive along Malibu Creek, mountain vistas, wide sweeping black-top curves and beautiful villas.

As you approach the summit, the first thing you notice is the temperature has dropped -- from perhaps a steamy 90º in the valley to a brisk 70º as you hit the Pacific Ocean air current. Then, between the baked brown hills, you suddenly catch a glimpse of the breathtaking blue, sparkling ocean.
